#3 Public space

This is a study was done for a new food market in New York City. These pictures relate to a journey analysis of a farmers market in New York. The picture shows ergonomic problems, location constrains and depicts the needs of the sellers while setting up, selling, waiting, carrying, exchanging, chatting, replenish, and cleaning up the space.

We identified the user in a broader sense: like shoppers, tourists, and consumers. They all have different needs and interact with the market in different ways.

Sequence one: observation of a seller set up. Shows several areas of improvement, therefore design opportunities.

Image two: Overlapping images of the market. Shows the flow of people and their interaction with the space.

The conclusion of this analysis was implemented on the programming plan of a covered market in the City, in a nearby location.
